First Look at Daniel Craig and Hugh Jackman Together on Broadway

Entertainment Weekly has the first publicity photo for A Steady Rain, the Broadway play that will star Daniel Craig and Hugh Jackman as two Chicago cops whose friendship gets tested when they get involved in a domestic conflict. I think they look more like two perps in a line-up arrested on suspicion of child pornography or lewd public behavior.

The Keith Huff play is still in rehearsals so hopefully, Craig’s mustache will be trimmed/eliminated by the time previews start September 10. The man doesn’t have to try and hide his good looks to prove he can act!

The play’s run is scheduled until December 6. Anybody bought tickets yet? What do you think of the ‘stache?

  1. Hee hee!! Spot on as always, PCN. Or is the stache larger-than-life so it can be easily seen from the cheap seats?

Hee hee! I laughed at both your comments. Good one, Shelley P. Movember (sic) in Canada men grow mustaches to raise money for prostate cancer. Daniel C could raise a few dollars on that one. You would not want to spot these two hanging around your child’s playground at recess.

LOL! Great line, PCN. As for the ‘stache, it’s just okay. My daughter likes it, though. Thanks for the post.

  4. Wait a second….this isn’t a porno? C’mon, it’s a gay porno, right? LOL!

A big fan of both of Craig and Jackman, but someone should fire the person who thought releasing this picture was a good thing. My God, it’s freaking James Bond and Wolverine! You’d think that the photographer would at least have them smile a little bit. These guys look like they desperately trying to be taken seriously. What the heck were they thinking?

  5. I don’t know why you would want them to smile, seeing as they’re playing cops who realize that they released a child into the custody of a serial killer. And seeing as hugh’s character is apparently a racist, violent man, smiling would be kindda out of place in that pic.

Anyone can see this type of show off-Broadway. The fact that these two are teaming up to do a play on Broadway is a bit of a stunt. If they wanted to be taken seriously, they wouldn’t have taken such a cheesy picture in the first place OR done the piece quietly in London.

      • ALSO: The best they can hope for with that picture is that they DON’T end up as fodder for late-night talk show hosts.

  6. I like those two as actors. Really. I think they both have so much potential which is little exploited since they’re tagged as action stars.

Don’t mind the ‘stache, though I have to agree with #9… he does look like a porno star. LOL.

  7. They look like someone just took their picture in the men’s room/

    • Could also be in front of one of those rent-a-storage facilities. Although I do like the bathroom idea, which kinda leads us back to the gay porn visual. Don’t they look like they were both caught doing something bad?

But, seriously, I respect both actors tremendously. Although, the best thing Jackman ever did was Swordfish. Wish he would get back on track. I enjoy the Wolverine franchise, but it’s had its run if you ask me.

Daniel Craig, on the other hand, could write his ticket with the two mega movie roles he has attached himself to, but I do miss what he did in Layer Cake.

You guys all cracked me up!

Shelley P, you can see that ‘stache from space, not just the cheap seats.

Elizabeth, I think Craig could raise enough money to cure prostate cancer if he walked around in Canada like that in Movember.

LP13, um, I’m a little concerned about your daughter liking men who look like that…

Reader #9 & snoopy, I don’t think the men should be smiling—that might make them look even more pervy—but perhaps the first publicity photo from this very serious-sounding project should be less (unintentionally) hilarious.

Poncho, I love these guys, too. I don’t think they need to worry too much about being pigeonholed as action stars since they’ve established reputations as versatile actors.

Corey, ha! you just took it to a whole seedier level!

EIREGO, how do you know so much about gay porn? šŸ™‚
